What are Ageing Well Clubs?

The clubs are for older people who find themselves socially isolated for whatever reason, giving them the opportunity to once again socialise and make friends. People may feel socially isolated due to illness, a stay in hospital or bereavement and the clubs are a way of meeting people and making new friends. Club members also benefit from chair based exercise, learn from guest speakers and get advice from our information and advocacy service.

When and where are they held?

There are three Ageing Well Clubs: Monday Club, Tuesday Club and Thursday Club.

All clubs are held from 1.30pm to 3.30pm once a week.

The Monday and Tuesday Clubs are in Southport and the Thursday Club is in Formby.

What goes on at the clubs?

There are lots of different activities at the Ageing Well Clubs, the following is just a brief example.

  • Chair based exercise
  • Card making and craft
  • Sing-a-longs
  • Quizzes
  • Pamper sessions
  • Personal safety advice
  • Advocacy advice
  • Aids and adaptations advice

And much more ...
